Introduction newlineIn spite of their healthcare benefits, drugs can cause harmful effects due to the newlinedevelopment of adverse drug reactions (ADRs). As part of their responsibility newlinephysician, pharmacist and nursing professionals should be vigilant during their newlineprescription. In today s consumer driven society, patients are increasingly aware of newlinedrug related problems and they wish to involve in decision making of many aspects newlineof their health and prescription. newlineObjectives newline1. To determine the incidence of adverse drug reactions in hospitalized IPD patients. newline2. To evaluate the predisposing factors associated with Adverse Drug Reactions. newline3. To assess the severity of ADRs and causality relationship between suspected drug newlineand adverse reaction by using various scales. newlineMethodology newlineA prospective- retrospective study was conducted for a duration of 26 months, newlineincluded all age groups of either sex admitted to the following six departments of newlineGeneral Medicine male and female wards, Dermatology, Paediatric, Psychiatry, ICU, newlineOrthopaedic male and female of tertiary care hospital. Statistical techniques: A newlinestatistical technique, logistic regression was applied in order to find the association newlineof predisposing factors for adverse drug reactions between the cases newlineix newlineand controls. Chi square test was performed for the test of significance for newlinecategorical variables. The qualitative data was presented as frequencies and newlinepercentages. The quantitative data was presented as mean and standard deviation. newline
