Qualitative and Quantitative studies on indian essential oils

Abstract

The purpose of the present investigation is to study the qualitative and quantitative composition of seven Indian essential oils The Oils of Carum carvi L commercial sample and freshly distilled sample Cymbopogon flexosus stapf Cymbopogon winterianus J newline This work may be useful in the context of perfume and flavour industry in the country and may eventually help in the analysis of the mixtures of terpenoids and essential oils It may also be helpful in the standardisation of the oils investigated during this study and also in the derivation of biogenetic schemes of some of these essential oils
