Abstract
Characterization of Polymeric Nanocomposites
newlinedeals with the synthesis of various carboxymethyl guar gum based nanocomposites.
newlineAn attempt has been taken to synthesize carboxymethyl guar gum/silver
newlinenanocomposite for testing its ammonia sensing property and further antimicrobial
newlineactivity against gram positive and gram negative bacterial. In the next attempt
newlinecarboxymethyl guar gum nanoparticles have been synthesized by nanoprecipitation
newlinemethod and further these nanoparticles were used as a stabilizer in
newlinePolyaniline/CMGG nanocomposite. The aim was to improve the processing problem
newlineof polyaniline. At the last attempt a biodegradable, conductive, flexible
newlinepolyaniline/CMGG film has been prepared. Some of the expecting applications are as
newlinefollowing.
newlinea) To develop a liquid ammonia optical sensor by using carboxymethyl guar
newlinegum/silver nanocomposite.
newlineb) To synthesize an antimicrobial film for medical applications.
newlineviii
newlinec) To synthesize carboxymethyl guar gum nanoparticles for using as stabilizer to
newlineimprove the processing problem of conductive polymers and to be used in
newlineconductive nanopaint.
newlined) To develop conductive, flexible, water insoluble film which might be used in tissue
newlineengineering and drug delivery.
newlineSo the entire work of the Ph.D. thesis has been divided into following five chapters.
