Abstract
Chapter one is divided into two parts, the first part we will primarily discuss the concept of
newlinetransition metals catalyst, the advantages of 1st row transition metal-oxide nanoparticles from
newlinebio-waste resources and so on. Secondly, in this chapter we will also introduce eco-friendly,
newlinesustainable, and cost-effective approach for emerging new catalyst and additive-free variety
newlineof organic reactions, which is critical in the field of synthetic chemistry. This chapter will
newlinealso include an overview of the thesis as well as the objectives of our current research project.
newlineChapter two, depicts the importance of transition metals in organic synthesis. Furthermore,
newlinethe synthesis of 1st row transition metal-oxide nanoparticles via the biogenic reduction
newlinemethod will be emphasized. Additionally, in second part we will summarise the various
newlineorganic transformation under transition metal-free condition.
newlineIn the third chapter we will describe a multi-component one-pot synthesis of
newlinepolyfunctionalized fluorinated and#946;-keto-imidates under transition metal-free conditions. This
newlinereaction proceeds via the functionalized alkyne hydration and the intermediate 1,3-
newlineketoamino moiety can be achieved by using commercially available cost-effective materials.
newlineIn the later stage, we have also described the fluorination of 1,3-ketoamide using selectfluor

newlineto form a bioactive fluorinated and#946;-keto-imidates. Nevertheless, one pot fluorinated alkyne
newlinehydration and its docking study under transition metal-free condition will further highlight
newlinethe importance of metal-free chemistry towards the synthesis of bio-active organic
newlinemolecules.
newlineIn chapter four, we will discuss the catalyst-free intermolecular regioselective [3+2]-
newlinecycloaddition of and#945;,and#946;-unsaturated N-arylnitrones with alkenes leading to the functionalized
newlineisoxazolidines. Importantly, computational studies confirmed that [3+2]-cycloaddition
newlineshowed more favourable results than [5+2]-cycloaddition under catalyst-free conditions.
newline
newlineIn the fifth chapter, we will mainly focus on the development and synthesis of N,O-
newlinecontaining benzo fused heterocyclic compound under catalyst and additive-free conditions
newline
newlineat ambient temperature. In one pot reaction, O-atom transfer and followed by construction
newlineof new C=O, Cand#8722;N, and Cand#8722;O bonds occurred without using an external base and oxidant.
newlineFurther, the newly synthesized compounds were studied for their photophysical properties
newlineusing ultravioletand#8722;visible absorption and photoluminescence spectroscopy.
newline
newlineIn chapter six we will discuss a biogenic method for preparation and development of eco-
newlinefriendly, inexpensive, recyclable, and single crystalline and#948;-phase manganese-dioxide
newline
newlinenanoparticles. This work involved the metal catalysed organic transformations wherein
newlinealkylation of ketones with primary alcohols and secondly alcohols to form a quinoline
newlinederivatives were developed using and#948;-phase manganese-dioxide nanoparticles. We have
newlinesuccessfully implemented heterogeneous catalysts for the synthesis of wide range of value
newlineadded molecules under ambient conditions in good to excellent yields.
newlineIn last chapter, we will collectively summarize overall investigations carried out using
newlinetransition metal oxide based nanocatalysts and transition metal-free catalytic systems.
newlineFurther, we will try to illustrate and throw light upon the future applications of newly
newlinesynthesized biogenic heterogeneous catalysts and catalyst-free pathways for bioactive
newlineorganic molecules synthesis and other organic transformations.
