| dc.description.abstract | In this modern competitive world demand has been increased towards the development for lighter and energy efficient materials. Aluminium metal matrix composites have been the best suited materials for research in this direction. Main limitation of the composite materials has been their higher cost. Use of low cost reinforcement can be a solution for this limitation. Red-mud an industrial waste material can be utilized as a reinforcement material. Hence there is a need to study of mechanical and wear properties for aluminium red-mud composite. To find out the effect of chosen parameters on mechanical and wear properties, five levels have been considered. L25 orthogonal array has been selected for conducting the experiments. newline | |
