dc.description.abstractAluminium Al and its alloys have distinct qualities such as low density damping ability dimensional stability machinability and low casting cost to gain greater attention for industrial applications The major application includes marine aviation military equipments civilian products of high value such as automobile computer and communication equipment The weight reduction corrosion resistance thermal properties and ease of manufacturing encourages the manufacturers to substitute this metal for other materials One of the challenges in the fabrication of product using this material is in joining dissimilar grades due to the formation of brittle intermetallics and oxide films Diffusion bonding is one of the viable and reliable option to join these alloys without much difficulty The present work is to optimize diffusion process and its major governing parameters to effectively bond different grades of aluminium alloys which will serve as a reference map for designers and welding engineers newline newline
