Studies on the Status of Air Pollution in Nanded City and Its Impact on Biological Aspects

Abstract

The role of atmospheric pollutants (Gaseous and Particulate) are very important in urban regions because of their impact causing properties on human being. The major task for air quality monitoring system is to monitor the concentration of air pollutants from various places in cities and towns and provide an acceptable quantitative information about spatial and chronological differences of air pollution to implement a proper and necessary preventive measures. In earlier days appropriate information of air pollution and its concentration in an atmosphere is very essential to implement necessary action to prevent and solve the problem. In the developing countries like India, air pollution has become a severe threat particularly to urban side where vehicular traffic exhaust are the major pollution contributing source. newlineIn present study an Ambient Air Quality from 6 different region in Nanded city was assessed. For monitoring I had selected 2 gaseous SO2, NOx and 2 particulate SPM and RSPM pollutants during the year 2015 and 2016. newlineThe reason for the investigation of Air Quality in Nanded city is, Nanded city is second most important epicenter of the Marathwada region after Chatrapati Sambhaji Nagar for economic activities. However, the region has inherent potential to be one of the good regional destination with sound socio economic fundamentals. It has an adequate infrastructure, high literacy rate in peoples living within city area, and reasonably good per capita income. Nanded city has also providing good service sectors by virtue of presence telecom companies, Bank service, IT services, overall Nanded has potential and capable to merge as a metropolis city.
