SOCIAL LIFE IN KASHMIR FROM 700 AD To 1200 AD

Abstract

The present study provides an overview of social life in Kashmir from 700 AD to 1200 AD. During this period, Kashmir witnessed significant socio-cultural and religious developments under the rule of various dynasties. The society was characterized by a complex interplay of religious, cultural, and political influences, which shaped the social fabric of the region. This study aims to highlight key aspects of social life during this era, including caste system, gender roles, education, economy, foods and drinks and religious practices. It draws upon historical records, literary works, and archaeological evidence to provide a concise understanding of the social dynamics in Kashmir during the study period .
