Abstract
The present investigation was carried out to investigate the Effect of plant
newlinegrowth regulators and rooting media on growth and survival of air layering of
newlineKagzi lime (Citrus aurantifolia Swingle) at the Horticulture garden, Department of
newlineFruit Science, Chandra Shekhar Azad University of Agriculture and Technology,
newlineKanpur (U.P.) during rainy season of 2018-19 and 2019-20. The experiment was
newlinelaid out in a Factorial C.R.D. and Factorial R.B.D. with twenty treatments and three
newlinereplications. Two level each of IBA and NAA (2000 and 4000 ppm) four rooting
newlinemedia viz. soil, F.Y.M., vermicompost and moss grass and these rooting media
newlinewere also taken as a unit of control. Layering operation was done on 10 July
newlineduring the year 2018-19 and 2019-20. All the root parameters i.e. callus
newlineformation, days to root initiation, root formation, diameter, fresh and dry weight
newlineof roots and rooting percentage were significantly enhanced with IBA 4000 ppm
newlinetreatment as well as rooting media moss grass individually during both years of
newlinestudy. Root initiation was also hastened with these treatments. All the interactive
newlinetreatments as well as influence within control did not show significant variation
newlineon root parameters barring rooting percentage. It was, however, maximized with
newlineIBA 4000 ppm × moss grass and moss grass tested as a unit of control.
