Abstract
Aluminum Hybrid Metal Matrix Composite (Al-HMMC) is one of the
newlineadvanced materials with specific and specialized industrial applications. They
newlineare used widely in automobile industries such as bearing sleeves, piston, etc.
newlineOne of the primary processes of manufacturing these components is
newlineconventional machining. Machining parametric table offered by the
newlinemanufacturer is more essential and does not provide recently developed
newlinematerials. Hence the parameters for newer materials need to be optimized.
newlineReinforcement enhances the stiffness, strength as well as the capacity for
newlinetemperature resistance. It also lessens the density of MMC. To attain these properties, the choice
newlinerelies on the kind of reinforcement. Due to the addition of reinforcements like
newlinesilicon carbide (SiC) and graphite which are harder as well as stiffer than the
newlinematrix material, machining turns out to be most challenging when compared
newlineto typical conventional materials. A more significant majority of studies
newlinerelated to the machining of Al-MMCs directed attention to turning off the
newlinematerials. Recent researches indicate that particulate reinforced Aluminum
newlineHybrid Metal Matrix Composites (Al-HMMC) stand as one of the difficult to
newlinemachining of the materials. Hence in this work, experimental studies were
newlinecarried out for the optimal setting of machining parameters on the turning of
newlineAl HMMC. Henceforth, investigations that various parameters of Al HMMC
newlineare remarkably required. So that in this research work, Al 7075 based hybrid
newlinemetal matrix composite is fabricated and tested conclusively. Then it is
newlineanalyzed through the Taguchi method to study the various machining
newlineparameters
