Abstract
newlineThe current study has explored the relationship between emotional abuse, locus of
newlinecontrol, meaning in life with hedonic and eudaimonic happiness of young adults. In
newlinemodern times the competitive world that we live in most people are facing stress,
newlineanxiety, depression and everyone s goal is to obtain happiness. Happiness is most
newlineessential to human life and development as it is an affective state we feel which leads
newlineto well-being of our body, mind and soul. It is evident that now more than ever that
newlinehappiness is important for all kinds of growth. Economist and Nobel laureate Amartya
newlineSen proposed that the quality of life and a countries citizenry s general well-being
newlineshould be considered as a measure when looking at overall economic success.
newlineEmotional abuse is a major epidemic in our society. However it s the least understood
newlineform of abuse. It is Locus of control that helps to make decisions and take actions in
newlineour lives. In recent times with the growth of positive psychology and its focus on
newlinepositive traits and psychological strengths meaning in life has been seen in a new light
newlineand its association to a happiness. The study attempts to understand happiness better
newlinewith the two pathways of well-being hedonic happiness and eudaimonic happiness
newlinerespectively. Henceforth it is quite imperative that the study the psychological
newlineconstructs are explored through theoretic outlooks which the study examines.
