Robust and adaptable reliability analysis frameworks for complex component based software system

Abstract

With the increasing needs of the people in this generation, a large number of highly featured quality software systems need to be developed in all the domains. Nowadays the complexity of the software system is gradually increased because of its large size. With this nature, the traditional software development process unable to produce higher quality software system within limited resources. So, the traditional software development process has been moved to the reuse-based software development process (CBSD) which reduces the time and resource of software development. Testing is an important process in the software development life cycle to ensure the quality of software systems. Due to the imperfectness of software testing and proving in ensuring the software correctness and quality, a proper metric is needed to measure the degree of correctness and quality of software system in the development phase and also the operational phase. The software reliability metric is the solution to this problem. Predicting the reliability of software system in the early phase of development will be used to reduce the risk, resources and time for the software development process and also to take the appropriate decision in the design phase. newline
