Factors Affecting Job Satisfaction of the Faculty Members of Private Universities of Eastern India Psychological Contract Playing a Moderating Role

psychological contract plays an important role to meet the unsaid expectations newlineof the faculty members and management of private universities in eastern newlineIndia. newlineObjectives: The research was conducted to establish three major objectives: newline1) To find out the relationship of Organisational variables and Psychological newlineContract with Job satisfaction in the Private universities of Eastern India. 2) newlineTo find out the relationship of Demographic factors with the Job satisfaction newlineof Faculty members of Private Universities of Eastern India and 3) To newlineunderstand the Moderating role of psychological contract between newlineorganisational variable and Job satisfaction. newlineResearch Methodology: Descriptive research design was used. Data was newlinecollected from the Private Universities of Eastern India. The considered newlinesample size for the study was 323. Exploratory Factor analysis was used to newlineuncover the underlying structure of relatively large set of variables. Multiple newlineRegression and ANOVA was used to test the hypothetical models. newlineFindings: It was found through the study that marital status and tenure does newlinenot impact the Job Satisfaction of faculty members in Private Universities of newlineEastern India. Organisational variables have a significant role in the Job newlinesatisfaction of faculty members. Psychological Contract plays a moderating newlinerole influencing the job satisfaction of faculty members. newlineImplications: This research is an attempt to find out the factors affecting the newlineJob satisfaction of Faculty members in Private Universities of eastern India. newlineThere are factors like Job crafting plays an important role in the teaching newlineprofession.
