Abstract
Virtualization in computing world is very fascinating. It started very early in 60 s as a
newlinebetter may of using high-end main frame servers. But it did not get the prominence till
newlineearly 2000. As the processing power increased, and new hardware support for the virtual
newlinemachine started coming in, dramatically changed the perception towards server
newlinevirtualization as a technology. As more and more organizations started embracing the
newlinetechnology, more research started focusing on the virtualization as technology to solve
newlinesome of the today s Information technology world problems. Our effort is toward this
newlinepath. Our research try to address four key unanswered questions in this field. Starting
newlinewith, mapping different elements in a large virtualized environment by statistically
newlineidentifying the co-relation and then try to make sense of those mapping to solve the
newlinelogical path between physical to virtual elements relationship. This research also
newlineexplored some of the key challenges in collecting performance and failure alerts in
newlinedistribute large virtual environment and come up with a new model, which has
newlinecentralized repository and dashboard to address some of the reporting need of the
newlineadmins. Our effort was is to try using data analytical tools to collect, filter, normalized,
newlinegroup and then report on the heterogeneous data in virtualized environment. Our aim is
newlineto use some of the existing analytical and statistical tools to solve the virtualized
newlineenvironment monitoring, management and performance data collection problems.
