Abstract

Micronuclei, small cytoplasmic bodies formed outside the nucleus, are triggered newlineby various genotoxic agents capable of harming chromosomes. The micronucleus test newlineserves as a valuable indicator of genotoxic exposure, as it correlates with chromosome newlineabnormalities. Specifically, the buccal cell micronucleus assay offers insights into newlinecytogenic damage within tissues vulnerable to human carcinogens, potentially leading newlineto carcinoma formation. newline1. To evaluate and compare the frequency of micronuclei in the smears of exfoliated newlinecells from normal oral mucosa, smokers, tobacco chewers, potentially malignant newlinedisorders and malignant lesions using H and E and PAP stains. newline2.
