Robust Biometric Watermarking for Copyright Protection of Digital Image Data

Abstract

The ever increasing rate of data exchange over the internet in the form of audio video and images has narrowed the communication delays However at the same time it has caused an increase in the fraudulent ways of acquiring manipulating and tampering with data There is hence a need to provide an authentication data within this multimedia data images to ensure the originality and copyright protection This process of adding small distortions to image by exploiting the redundancy in image data and the fact that human visual system is also insensitive to such distortions is called watermarking Watermarking is the best remedy for protecting and preserving the rightful ownership of any useful data newlineBiometrics has essentially become an integral part in user authentication The objective of his thesis is to ensure copyrights protection implementations so as to ensure the rightful ownership of the digital images The proposed biometric based watermarking schemes provide the requisite level of authentication by embedding the identity of the owner in to the digital image Both behavioral offline handwritten signature and physiological face or iris biometrics have been used in various algorithms newline newline
