dc.description.abstractThe importance of sports and exercise in contributing to the physical growth, newlinemental health, and overall well-being of children is well recognized. The purpose of newlinethis study was to study the personality and wellbeing of adolescents engaged in newlineoutdoor and indoor games in relation to their emotional intelligence. With the help of newlinepurposive sampling technique 240 (120 Indoor and 120 Outdoor) sports players were newlinetaken from urban based higher secondary and colleges where indoor and outdoor newlinegames facilities were available for the study. To collect information about Emotional newlineintelligence, Personality and Wellbeing of the adolescent players, Mangal Emotional newlineIntelligence Inventory (MEII) developed by Mangal S.K and Shubhra Mangal (1971), newlineNEO Five Factor Inventory developed by Costa and McCrae (1992) and Ryff Scale newlineof psychological wellbeing (RSPWB) developed by Carol Ryff and Keyes (1989) newlinewere used in this study. The collected data was analyzed by descriptive statistic i.e., newlinemeans and S.D., t -test and Product MomentCorrelation were employed to find out newlinethe correlation between Emotional intelligence, personality and wellbeing. At the newlinesecond level, inferential statistics 2X2X2 ANOVA was computed. The result of this newlinestudy showed that the players of outdoor games have a higher personality newlineorganization; also, the two categories of players (indoor/outdoor games) significantly newlinediffer with respect to their personality characteristics andstate level players and the newlinedistrict level players differ significantly in their personality characteristics. Emotional newlineintelligence, categories of players and types of games collectively, do not have any newlinesignificant impact on the Wellbeing of the adolescent players in the study sample. In newlinethis study positive correlation was found between personality and wellbeing of newlineadolescent s players in relation to Emotional Intelligence. newline
