Abstract

At the edge of completing the present study entitled A clinical study of Amalaki Ghanvati and Plaksha Yonivarti in the management of Shwetapradar.quotThe final conclusion of the research study is drawn as follows: newlineThe term Shwetapradar means excessive white vaginal discharge. It is the most common gynecological complaint in the reproductive age group of women. newlineShwetapradar is the symptom of several reproductive tract infections and non-infectious diseases. newlineNon-infectious or physiological discharge is not associated with any other symptoms apart from discharge. But when it turns into an infectious condition, the female complains of associated clinical features like pruritic vulva, lower abdomen pain, backache, burning micturition, etc. newlineShwetapradar does not cause mortality in a woman, but the health, efficiency, and quality of life of women are affected on a large scale. PID, infertility, cervical erosion, and carcinoma of the cervix are the common complications of Shwetapradar. The drugs employed in the clinical trial were Amalaki Ghanavati and Plaksha Yonivarti. newlineShwetapradar can be treated with such types of drugs that have the capacity to remove infections, inflammation, and discharges. Various single and compound herbal formulations used internally (oral) as well as externally (local therapy) are described in Ayurvedic classical texts. newlineAmalaki Ghanavati has been found very effective in managing excessive vaginal discharge. Its antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and immunomodulatory properties improve the vaginal defence mechanism and help in curing infections. Yonivarti (vaginal pessary) is a very common practice under sthanik chikitsa (local therapy). Yonivarti is more convenient and effective in Yonisrava, Yonikandu. Plaksha relieved Shwetapradar by Kashaya, Tikta rasa, Laghu ruksha guna, stambha, Sngrahi, Shoshana, and Kapha-pittahara property. newlineHence, combined oral administration of Amalaki Ghanavati and the local use of Plaksha Yonivarti is highly effective for the management of Shwetapradar. newlineBas
