Disruption in human resource practices owing to the adoption of digital technology in hospitality sector of service industry in Delhi NCR

Abstract

This thesis investigates the role of technology adoption in transforming Human resource practices in the Hospitality industry especially Hotel Industry. As global competition and consumer demand increase, companies face challenges in maintaining a well-structured human resource practices that lead to the increase in efficiency and productivity. The purpose of this research is to explore how technology adoption can optimize HR practices and increase efficiency/productivity of the employees. This study is significant because it provides insights into the future of technology adoption in the service sector and its potential for long term improvements in a well-structured human resource practice. newlineThe primary objective of this study is to identify and measure the factors influencing HR practices like employee engagement, performance management, organization culture, and green human resource management as a result of technology adoption in the hospitality industry. Also to develop a framework for hotel industry which will help adopt digital technologies in their work practices seamlessly. newlineThe study found that technology adoption, such as Artificial intelligence (AI) machine learning (ML), internet of things (IOT) etc in disrupting Human Resource Practices (HRP), significantly improved the efficiency and productivity of hospitality industry. Based on the findings, it is recommended that hotel industry should clearly communicate how Technology Adoption (TA) supports its overall vision and mission. newlineThis thesis provides valuable insights into how technology adoption can optimize Human resource practices, offering significant improvement in efficiency and productivity. However, challenges such as high initial investments and resource constraints remain. While the study focused on hospitality industry, future research could expand to other service sectors. Overall, TA holds great potential to transform human resource practices, and businesses must carefully consider its implementation to ensure long-term success.
