A study on managerial factors affecting team identification

Abstract

The purpose of the present study was to find out the managerial factors which newlineaffect/foster team identification. Data were collected from college students which are newlineaffiliated to Tamilnadu Physical Education and Sports University and Manonmaniam newlineSundaranar University (department of Physical Education) (N= 420); to examine five newlineconstructs of managerial factors. Based on the results of empirical tests, five newlinemanagerial factors (organization, performance, affiliation, media, and tradition) were newlineselected. The managerial questionnaire which was designed by JIN-LONG CHEN newline(2007) undertaken for this study. To investigate the five major managerial factors newlinenamely (1) organization, (2) attractive, (3) affiliation, (4) media, and (5) tradition, the newlineanalysis of variance (ANOVA) was used to find out the significant differences if any newlinedifferent between the Managerial factors on Team identification. In all the cases, 0.05 newlinelevel of confidence was fixed to test of significance, which was considered as newlineappropriate in this study. In conclusions, there was a significant difference among newlineCricket, Football, Hockey, Kabaddi and Volleyball on organization, performance, newlineaffiliation, media and Tradition. newline
