Technology provides myriad options of facilitating learning and also making teaching newlinemore productive in terms of improvements. The use of audio-visual multimedia aids as newlinea part of technology can prove as a useful tool for second language teaching and learn- newlineing. The study aims to discover new and more conducive means and methods to moti- newlinevate the students and develop confidence in them to learn a second language. The present newlinestudy s focus is to check the attitude of engineering students (n=2561) and language facili- newlinetators (n=20) towards the use of audio-visual multimedia technology in the second language newlineclassroom. It also examines the use of films and TED videos as a multimedia tool to en- newlinehance motivation and language learning skills in students studying in the various Engineer- newlineing institutes and colleges of Gujarat. They were further divided into two groups: Group newline1 (Experimental Group) and Group 2 (Control Group). The study was accomplished using newlineboth quantitative and qualitative (mixed-method) methods that use questionnaires, obser- newlinevations, and interviews. The quantitative analysis was done using Likert Scale analysis and newlineZ- test. Observation and interview data have been analysed and interpreted qualitatively. newlineThe researcher found significant differences between the students of Group 1 (Experimen- newlinetal Group) and Group 2 (Control Group) by using the film and Ted video as a multimedia newlinetool in second language classroom. It can be summarized from the findings of the present newlinestudy that films and Ted videos as a multimedia tool motivate the students to learn English newlinein second language classrooms and also helps them to understand and enhance their second newlinelanguage skills. newline
