Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) is a collection of small nodes where each node consists of processing and sensing capability. WSNs screen physical environmental conditions like temperature, pressure, sound, motion etc. Sensor nodes are deployed to carry out various applications such as disaster recovery, industrial control, health monitoring, environmental monitoring and so forth. These nodes are expected to be battery equipped and are deployed in a variety of terrains. In Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs), power consumption is likely to be one of the foremost aspects for consideration which affects the efficiency of WSNs. Energy to sensor nodes are provided by batteries and subsequently, these nodes can only stay operational for a restricted period of time. Thus, the lifetime of Wireless Sensor Networks is intensely vulnerable to energy consumption. In WSNs, energy is consumed due to data gathering from environment, transmission of data and reception in between nodes. Hence, energy efficiency is a major design issue for WSNs. Several routing protocols, power administration, and information dissemination protocols were chiefly designed for WSNs where energy efficiency is an essential design issue. The routing protocols differ depending on their application and network architecture. Moreover, limited energy of nodes and low bandwidth wireless links are limitations in designing an energy-efficient protocol. This research proposal focuses on the energy-efficient technique in WSNs in order to improve the performance of the system. newline
