dc.description.abstractCuscuta reflexa is a parasitic plant with huge medicinal importance and have a great value in both Ayurveda and pharmaceuticals. Although Cuscuta is a parasitic plant and cannot survive without a host plant, so the phytochemical constituents of Cuscuta also depend on properties of its host plant. Cuscuta reflexa itself a medicinal plant but its medicinal properties also alter with variation of its host plants which can make this plant more potent in its remedial properties. So there is a need to study therapeutic potentials of this miracle medicinal plant which grown on different host plants. Although Cuscuta reflexa grows over many different host plants but in the present research work, we have selected Cuscuta reflexa grown over Acacia nilotica and Nerium oleander host plant; this is the first time ever a comparative study has been carried out on Cuscuta reflexa grown on two different host plants as Nerium oleander and Acacia nilotica in terms of its phytochemical constitution, antimicrobial, antioxidant properties, RAPD analysis, nutritional profiling, isolation of pure bioactive compounds by flash column chromatography and identification of pure compounds by GC-MS/MS scanning, FTIR and NMR spectrums. newlineIsolation of various bioactives from Cuscuta reflexa were performed. Extraction of Cuscuta reflexa grown on Acacia nilotica (CRB) and Nerium oleander (CRN) host plant were carried out using different solvent systems and % extracts was calculated. CRN petroleum ether extract have 0.67% extract, toluene have 0.87% extract, chloroform have 1.08% extract, ethyl acetate have 0.66% extract and methanol have 2.59% extract. Whereas CRB petroleum ether have 0.93% extract, toluene have 0.79% extract, chloroform have 0.73% extract, ethyl acetate have 1.12% extract and methanol have 3.15% extract. Percent extract values of ethyl acetate and methanol extract are higher in CRB than CRN.
