A Study on Data Mining Based Framework for Quality Improvement of Web Applications

Abstract

The recent spurt in the number of web applications being engineered has led to a lot of researches pertaining to the quality of the engineered web applications. Websites have become very intrusive in the life of a common man and people use websites for a variety of purposes ranging from entertainment to banking to accessing government services. Web applications pose new challenges and hence require innovative approaches for quality improvement and control. Traditional Quality control measures for Software are inadequate to meet the new challenges imposed by Web applications. Data Mining the extraction of novel, potentially interesting patterns from vast amounts of data has captured the attention of researchers working in multiple domains. The success of employing data mining in other domains is the motivation of this research. Incorporating data mining techniques for web engineering can led to the development of quality websites. Given the promise data mining holds for other similar complex problems, it is highly likely that attempts to use it in web engineering will yield similar successes. newline
