| dc.description.abstract | In today s world, only change seems to be perennial. An organization to survive can no longer remain complacent and bask in the glory of today s success. Rather after reaping the harvest of success, it has newlineto think of tomorrow to ensure that unique position is perpetuated and no competitor surges ahead of it in terms of quality, cost, market share and positioning. This anxiety leads to relentless and enthusiastic quest for ways and means for improvement and introduction of novelty and excellence in product/ service features, delivery and after sales services. An organization has to be continuously up and doing to retain/enhance its market share, top line and bottom line. The idea that only constant is change has been accepted as a way of life for ages dating back to Greek newlinecivilization. Forces from outside the organization may trigger change. e.g. newlinecompetitor s action, changing socio economic factors like shifts in tastes, newlinepreferences, customs, income, changes in demo-graphic composition, govt. initiatives, changing political scenario, technological innovations and changing market structure. Change initiatives may also be insideout i.e. propelled from within. newline | |
