With the advancement in technology, today, wireless communications services demand newlinehigh data rates. Multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) technology is considered a key newlinefor wireless communication and biomedical applications. MIMO technology newlinesignificantly improves the performance of wireless communication systems, such as newlineenhancing the data rate, throughput, channel capacity, and transmission speed. newlineHowever, along with their ability to significantly increase channel capacity, several newlinechallenges exist in designing practical MIMO antennas. One of the challenges is newlinedesigning the MIMO antenna with a low correlation coefficient or low mutual coupling newlinebetween the antenna elements. Another challenge is to design the MIMO antenna in a newlinecompact form, simultaneously providing all the frequencies range of wireless newlinecommunication. The objective of this thesis is to design effective compact MIMO newlineantennas that can work in all the frequencies range of wireless communication and have newlinehigh isolation between the antenna elements. newlineThe present thesis is divided into seven chapters to realize the most commonly used newlineMIMO antennas. In chapter 1, the problem is introduced, and an exhaustive literature newlinesurvey is made on the MIMO antennas for different applications and isolation newlinetechniques. In chapter-1 a single-element microstrip patch antenna is simulated to newlineunderstand the basic design process. In chapter-2 to chapter-5, MIMO antennas are newlinedesigned on FR4 material, and detailed analysis is carried out for wearable and cancer newlinedetection applications. In chapter 6, a circular polarized MIMO antenna is designed on newlinea jeans substrate. These models are simulated using an electromagnetic tool, HFSS newlineversion-13, and also fabricated and measured. The simulated and measured results are newlineobserved with good agreement in all the antenna models. In the first design, a strip newlineground micro strip patch antenna with U-shaped slot has been simulated that operates newlinefrom 2 GHz to 2.8 GHz and suit for Wi-Fi and 4G applications. newline
