Attitude and Employability of Postgraduate Scholars towards Higher Agriculture Education in Rajasthan

newline The agricultural scenario in India is changing at a pace in view of globalization and Intellectual Property Right (IPR) regime which is being enforced. In future, India will face a market driven agriculture commodity choices with the rise of retails and supermarkets and that there will be an increased demand for processed food articles. Employability is about capability of getting and keeping fulfilling work. More comprehensively, employability is the capability to move self-sufficient within the labour market to realize potential through sustainable employment. For individuals, employability depends on the knowledge, skills and abilities they possess, the way they use those assets and present them to the employers and the context in which they seek work. The agricultural graduate and postgraduates should be enabled with some marketable professional abilities and employability skills to be successful and economic unit in the competitive technology driven world. With this point of view the present study was undertaken with following specific objectives. newlinei. To study the attitude of Postgraduate Scholars towards higher agriculture education. newlineii. To find out constraints faced by Postgraduate Scholars in achieving employment. The present study was conducted in Rajasthan which literally means Land of kings . At present Rajasthan state comprises of five Agricultural Universities, out of which three Agricultural Universities namely Swami Keshwanad Rajasthan Agriculture University, Bikaner, Maharana Pratap University of Agriculture and Technology, Udaipur and Sri Karan Narendra Agriculture University, Jobner were selected on the basis of postgraduate programmes (M.Sc. in Agriculture) are running for more than 20 years in various disciplines.
