The present study was initiated to find out the effects of intermittent versus continuous aerobic exercises on health related physical fitness components among the overweight late adolescent boys. Based on the sample size calculation after obtaining informed consent the samples were assigned to three group namely intermittent aerobic exercises continuous aerobic exercises and control with 20 subjects each who were selected through random sampling method. The two experimental groups underwent the aerobic exercises in intermittent and continuous method respectively for three times a week for a period of 12 weeks with the duration of 40 to 50 minutes at moderate to vigorous intensity levels with respect to the Borg scale of exertion and talk test. Experimental groups had 10 to 15 minutes of warm up and cool down program in every training session. Both the experimental groups followed the overload principle and hence the aerobic exercises workout were started with 10 minutes at first and then progressed by adding 2 minutes by every three weeks. The intermittent group had a recovery for every one minute of work out with newline10 seconds at first and then progressed by adding 5 seconds by every three weeks. The control group received no treatment. The subjects were assessed for the outcome measures namely abdominal endurance flexibility VO2 Max and explosive power by using the bend knee sit ups sit and reach test Coopers 12 min run walk test and vertical jump test respectively before after the 6th and 12th week of the training program. The results of the study showed a significant level of difference among the three groups. Also there was a significant change on the variables due to intermittent and continuous aerobic exercises. newline
