T newlineBackground of the study: Non pharmacological pain relief methods like Selected breathing techniques, therapeutic touch and abdominal effluerage and relaxation techniques, such interventions will result in shorter labour and lower rates of epidural anesthesia and caesarean section deliveries.Title:Effectiveness of Labour Nursing Strategies on Maternal and Fetal outcome among Primi mothers. Objectives :To assess the maternal and fetal outcome among Primi mothers in study and control group. To determine the effectiveness of labour nursing strategies on maternal and fetal outcome among Primi mothers. To correlate the maternal outcome with fetal outcome in study and control group. To associate the demographic variables with maternal and fetal outcome in both groups. Research Methodology:A Quasi experimental study with Post test only design with block randomized action was adopted for the study. The sample size was 234 samples (study - 116 and control group -118) study was conducted in Government Hospital, Kurinjipadi, TamilNadu. The tool was consists of 3 sections as Section A Background variables Section B Assessment tool for maternal outcome C Assessment tool for fetal outcome. As an intervention Selected breathing techniques therapeutic touch and abdominal effleurage was given to the study group mothers and routine care given to the control group mothers. Results andDiscussion: The correlation of maternal outcome with fetal outcome in study group shows r = 0.56 with the level of significant at Plt0.001, this the moderate positive correlation, when maternal outcome increased their fetal outcome also increased, but poor positive correlation was identified among maternal and fetal outcome in (control group) r = 0.17 also it reveals nil significance. Conclusion: The study deliverance that the Labour Nursing Strategies was more effective especially the cleansing breathing, patterned breathing, therapeutic touch and abdominal effleurage. newline
