Job Satisfaction of Librarians of the University Libraries of Gujarat State A Study

Abstract

The most valuable capital of any country is its human resource. Its economic newlinedevelopment depends on other factors, of which human resources are considered newlineparamount. The intellect and multidimensionality of any country is reflected in its newlinelibraries, it is ignited by the library in front of the people. A country that fails to newlineadvance the knowledge and science of its citizens as well as its meaningful newlineobligation to the national economy fails to achieve any kind of development. In newlineany educational institution, human resources play a meaningful role in fulfilling newlinethe objectives of the institution. newlineAccording to Hopok (1935) job satisfaction is a situation created by a set of newlinepsychological, physiological and environmental circumstances in which one newlinehonestly says that I am satisfied with my work. newlineWhen a person engaged in profession achieves satisfaction towards the newlineprofession, he gains in the work of profession and also in general life. Thus, the newlinesatisfaction a person gets from a profession and the personal benefits it brings newlineremain important for the betterment of society. newlineIn ancient times the development of a person depended on himself. But it newlinehas become the responsibility of the state to manage the proper development of newlinehuman resources. The intellectual development effort, which used to depend on the newlineindividual, has now shifted from the individual to the development of the state newlinesystem and equipment. Humans are now seen as the economic source of newlineproduction. Human Resource Development is a newly emerging and important newlinefield of development, which is of great importance, as it is rightly developed and newlineused as a means of production.
