Impact of Problem based learning and Concept mapping strategies in Science on achievement, problem solving ability and self regulated learning skills among students has been studied. Researcher employed an experimental research design as per the requirement of the study. Appropriate statistical techniques and tools were used to evaluate the formulated objectives and arrive at the conclusions. The outcomes of the study certainly indicated that Problem based learning and Concept mapping strategies enhance the student s capacity to preserve and apprehend the information provided in terms of content. Both the methods help in developing scientific inquisitiveness among students and develop their ability to reflect upon, organize and regulate the learning process. The present study has opened the ways for the teachers, instructors, curriculum developers and policy makers to adopt the advanced and constructivist methods of teaching and learning in the general school education system. newline
