newline ABSTRACT newlineThis research aims to identify spoken and writing errors made by upper primary level students in English subject. English language is like a window to the globe and assists the human beings across the whole universe to get wider knowledge of the world. To acquire the good communication skills one has to be expert in all the four aspects of English i.e. listening, speaking, reading and writing. newlineFirst chapter explains the history and origin of English language. The three phases of history of English language are Old English (450-1100 AD.), Middle English (1100-1500 AD.) and Modern English (1500 to present). Further it describes the present status of English in Indian Education and Indian Constitution. The importance of English has been explained. This chapter deals with rationale of the problem, the statement, objectives , he research questions and ends with the scope and delimitation of the study. newlineSecond chapter provides a review of related literature. It involves the systematic identification, analysis of documents containing information related to the research problem.
