dc.description.abstractThis research investigates the impact of Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) determinants newlineon the financial performance of Indian firms, contributing to the growing body of literature on newlinesustainable finance in emerging markets. The study is grounded in the context of India, where newlineregulatory developments and investor interest are increasingly focused on ESG criteria as a metric of newlinecorporate responsibility and sustainable growth. With a sample comprising firms from diverse sectors, newlinethe research employs quantitative analysis to assess the relationship between ESG practices and newlinefinancial performance indicators, including Return on Assets (ROA) and Tobin s Q, which serve as newlinemeasures of profitability and market valuation. newlineThe findings reveal a positive correlation between ESG performance and financial outcomes, newlineparticularly highlighting that firms with robust ESG practices tend to perform better financially. The newlinestudy identifies that governance factors such as board diversity, transparency, and accountability newline have a particularly strong influence on financial performance. Environmental practices, further newlinedemonstrate a positive association with profitability, underscoring the economic viability of newlinesustainable practices in resource-intensive industries. newlineAdditionally, the research explores the moderating effect of sales growth, showing that ESG practices newlineprovide a competitive edge, leading to improved market positioning and long-term profitability. newlineThis thesis highlights the strategic implications for businesses.
