Abstract
Reflexology involves the application of pressure to the feet, hands and
newlineears. It is based on a theory that these body parts are connected to certain
newlineorgans and body systems. Pressure applied in the foot brings relaxation and
newlinehealing to the corresponding area of the body. Studies show that reflexology
newlinefoot massage has significant effect on blood pressure, lipoproteins and blood
newlinesugar levels. There are number of studies done on the effect of reflexology
newlinefoot massage, dietary modifications, exercise and education on different
newlineaspects of metabolic syndrome. More information is required in the
newlineeffectiveness of multi interventional therapy in the reduction of physiological,
newlinebiochemical and socio psychological parameters of metabolic syndrome
newlineamong women. Emergence of metabolic syndrome among women is mainly
newlinein the middle age and control measures in this stage will be helpful to prevent
newlinethe development of cardiovascular diseases (CVD) and type 2 diabetes
newlinemellitus (T2DM). It will be helpful for improving the quality of life of people in a
newlinedeveloping country like India. Hence it is decided to conduct the study among
newlinemiddle age women.out. The result of the
newlinestudy reveals that lifestyle interventions and multi interventional therapy has a
newlinesignificant impact in reducing body weight, BMI, waist circumference, blood
newlinepressure, HDL, triglycerides, FBS and knowledge of women. Multi
newlineinterventional therapy was found to be more effective in reducing systolic and
newlinediastolic blood pressure and triglycerides as compared to lifestyle
newlineinterventions.
