This research work demonstrates some studies on welding of AA5083 and AA7075 newlineAluminium Alloys on Tungsten Inert Gas (TIG) and Friction Stir Welding (FSW) newlineprocesses. Individual studies were done on these welding processes to newlineinvestigate the Mechanical, Microstructural, EM wave properties and chemical newlineanalysis of the weldments. The literature study reveals that the there is a less work is newlinecarried out on TIG welding and FSW on AA 5083-O and AA7075-T651 material. The newlinecomparative study between TIG and FSW on AA 5083-O and AA7075-T651 is also newlinenot reported much in the earlier published work. This research work suggests the best newlineprocess parameters in TIG and FSW for welding of better strength weldments. The newlineTungsten Inert Gas (TIG) welding is a fusion welding process conventionally used to newlineweld materials for important applications such as in rocketry, aviation, sheet metal newlineand racing technologies. FSW is a solid state welding process which has a newlinerotating cylindrical tool, which consists of shoulder and profiled pin. In this newlineprocess tool rotates and slowly plunged into the edges of the two weld plates. Heat newlinegeneration in FSW depends on mass flow rate and process parameters. newlineIn TIG welding, Welding Current considered as a process parameter while voltage, newlineGas flow rate and Filler rod diameter kept constant. ER 5xxx electrode with diameter newline2.4 mm is used in this study. In FSW welding, tool rotational speed selected as a newlinevariable by making welding speed alloy placement, tool traverse speed and Tool Tilt newlineAngle as constant. A Flat Tool H13 material with 18 mm diameter and length 2.7 mm newlineis prepared and used in this process. newlineThe following mechanical, corrosion and EM wave properties of weldments are newlinetested in this research work. Tensile Strength (TS), Microhardness (MH), Micro newlinestructure (MS), Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), corrosion Analysis (CA) newline
