dc.description.abstractThe emergence of 5G wireless communication has led to a new millimeter-wave spectrum to enable high-speed data transmission, helping to alleviate congestion problems in the 4G spectrum. The compactness has been made possible through microstrip patch antennas, which are effective for electromagnetic radiation. These patch antennas offer wide bandwidth and low profiles, with designs ranging from 100MHz to 100GHz. 5G technology has not only increased data rates but also improved wireless system capacity by expanding from single-element designs to Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (MIMO) configurations. newlineThis Ph.D. thesis asserts the important advancements in the design, optimization, and analysis of MIMO antennas specifically for the n261 and n260 bands of 5G. It utilizes advanced electromagnetic simulation tools, including the High-Frequency Structure Simulator (HFSS) and Computer Simulation Technology (CST), supported by comprehensive measurement setups to ensure robust findings. The research aims to miniaturize antenna elements, address multipath fading challenges in single-element systems, and minimize the mutual coupling of electromagnetic radiation between MIMO elements. newline
