| dc.description.abstract | The thesis quotAcid/Visible-Light Mediated Denitrogenative Cross-Coupling and newlineTransannulation Reactions of 1,2,3-Benzotriazin-4(3H)-onesquot primarily focuses on newlinedeveloping new approaches for the synthesis of biologically important heterocycles newlinefrom 1,2,3-benzotriazin-4(3H)-ones without using any metal or photocatalysts. This newlineprocess is straightforward and proceeds with high atom-efficiency. In these reactions, newline1,2,3-benzotriazin-4(3H)-one is a class of 1,2,3-triazoles that are utilized as successful newlineorganic electrophiles to form various carbon-carbon and carbon-heteroatom bonds newlinewith the extrusion of a nitrogen molecule as the by-product. In this regard, the thesis newlinecomprises six chapters. The first and second chapters cover literature reports on 1,2,3- newlinebenzotriazin-4(3H)-ones, along with experimental methods, materials, and newlinecharacterization techniques. The third and fourth chapters describe acid-mediated newlinedenitrogenative cross-coupling and annulation reactions of 1,2,3-benzotriazin-4(3H)- newlineones under thermal conditions using organosulfonic acids and trimethylsilyl cyanide newlinefor synthesizing salicylanilide sulfonates and isoindoline-1,3-diones, respectively. The newlinefifth and sixth chapters explain the visible-light-induced denitrogenative annulation newlinereactions of 1,2,3-benzotriazin-4(3H)-ones using activated alkenes and terminal newlinealkynes to synthesize isoindolinones and isoquinolinones via EDA (Electron-Donor- newlineAcceptor) complex formation. newline | |
