A Study of Scope of Homoeopathy in Management of Menopausal Depression

Abstract

Menopause is a transitional period of changing role and status of women from reproductive to post reproductive age. It occurs due to decrease in level of oestrogen, which leads to multiple menopausal symptoms. In current scenario due to changing in life style of women like escalating stress, running behind materialistic achievement and looking forward to find out the solution to modify the external environment rather than innermost man the number of cases of menopausal depression are increasing day by day. So, it is a burning issue in the newlinecurrent scenario and in the prevailing topic a sincere attempt is made to find out a solution for this through like cures like Homeopathy Science. An analytical study involved cluster sampling method was followed. It was a single investigator study, the chance of inter investigator study, inter-observer variability was reduced. Out of153 OPD visited patients, 107 patients fulfilled the inclusion criteria and 7 drop outs were observed. So finally, 100 patients were enrolled in the current research study. The result of the study is quite encouraging and it has proved that homoeopathic medicine can definitely render immense benefit provided that the case has to be considered as a whole. This reveals that Homoeopathy has definite role in treatment of menopausal depression. This exhaustive study of 2 years is made on observation and outcomes based on statistical interpretations. The highest incidence of postmenopausal depression is seen in the age group of 45 to 50 and the newlineleast incidence is seen in the age group of 56 to 60 years.
