Comparative study of sports motivation stress and competitive anxiety among junior youth and elite pugilists in relation to their performance

| dc.description.abstract | The study investigates how sport motivation, stress, and competitive anxiety affect the performance of male and female pugilists of different age groups. Three questionnaires and scales have been used in the study to measure these variables: SMS-28, PSS, and SAS-2. The study used the Mean Difference Method (t-test) and the Analysis of Variance (F-test) to analyze the data. It shows that the Junior males had higher intrinsic motivation and Junior females had higher extrinsic motivation. The Youth males had higher intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and lower stress and anxiety than youth females. But Youth females had higher intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and lower anxiety than junior females. The Elite females had higher intrinsic and extrinsic motivation and higher stress than the junior and youth females. On the other side Junior females had higher extrinsic motivation and lower anxiety than that experienced by youth females. It is also shown that the Young males had higher extrinsic motivation and higher stress and anxiety than experienced by junior males. newline | |
