dc.description.abstractnewline The study Effect of Integrated Nutrient Management on Growth and Yield of Maize (Zea mays L.) under Poplar (Populus deltoides) based Agroforestry System was completed between 2018-21 in the College of Forestry, Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology and Sciences, Prayagraj (U.P.), India. The investigation was planned with RBD to examine the impact of integrated nutrient management with and without poplar trees and twelve fertilizer doses viz., T1 (Control), T2 (100% RDF), T3 (75%) RDF), T4 (50%) RDF), T5 (75%) RDF + (25%) RDF through FYM), T6 (50%) RDF + (50%) RDF through FYM), T7 (75%) RDF + (25%) RDF through Mustard oilcake, T8 (50%) RDF + (50%) RDF through Mustard oilcake and T9 (75%) RDF + (25%) RDF by the use of vermicompost, T10 (50%) RDF + (50%) RDF through Vermicompost, T11 (75%) RDF + (25%) RDF through poultry manure and T12 (50%) RDF + (50%) RDF through poultry manure, on growing and harvest potential of maize. The results showed that integrated nutrition management had a substantial impact on maize crop growth and yield characteristics. Among different doses of fertilizers, T9 (75% RDF + 25% RDF through Vermicompost) reported maximum germination % (94.33 and 95.67 %) after 7 DAS and (97.50 and 98.00%) after 10 DAS in poplar agroforestry and open field conditions respectively. Similarly, plant height (40.27, 174.63 and 213.80 cm) in maize-polar agroforestry and in open field conditions it was maximum in T9 (38.52, 168.80 and 211.67 cm) after 30 DAS, 60 DAS and at harvest stage accordingly. Highest Leaf Area Index (0.52 in T2 and T5 after 30 DAS, (5.34 in T4) after 60 DAS and 3.62 in T9 (after harvest stage), while in open field conditions it was maximum in T9 (0.54, 5.88 and 3.83) after 30, 60 DAS and at harvest stage.
