Abstract
Software engineering is a systematic approach to the development of a product. It focuses on the development of products using principles, methods, and procedures. It covers various phases for developing a product like analysis, design, coding, testing, and maintenance. Project management is a methodology to achieve project requirements effectively and efficiently.
newlineProject management has proven to be a very pivotal factor for the success of an organization. Agile is one of the categories of project management. Agile focuses on iterative and incremental product development. Agile works well in sectors where requirements are continuously changing. Agile can be implemented using various frameworks. Scrum is one of the frameworks of agile project management methodology. Scrum is best suited to the environment when requirements from the stakeholders are changing very often and when the definite amount of work cannot be a reckoning.
newlineThe Scrum framework proposes that the project moves on through a series of timeboxed iteration of a continuous development cycle. Scrum framework consists of artifacts/ steps like product backlog, backlog refinement, sprint backlog, and product increment. Scrum team consists of product owner, scrum master, and cross-functional team.
newlineThe research work aims to aid product owner in setting the priorities of stories of change in scrum framework. Product owner being responsible for managing the product and changes that occurred in the product, needs a priority mechanism of the stories of change which can reduce the problem of scope creep.
newlineOne of the reasons behind the scope creep problem in scrum framework is that it does not follow any systematic approach to handle the stories of change. The probable solution to this problem is to identify the approach to handle the stories of change in scrum framework.
