Abstract
The prospects of morbidity and mortality may ascend with the Polydrug abuse of prescription psychostimulants and central nervous system depressants. The increased global incidence of ADHD diagnosis and, consequently, the big boom in MPH prescription has raised the substantial debate of the lengthy-term results in the following remedy with MPH. In this present study, female Wistar rats were fed to the subacute treatment of ALZ and MPH, both alone and in combination. The toxicity potential of these drugs in combination was discerned by carrying out serum markers and biochemical estimations in brain, kidney, and liver. The results in the liver, kidney and brain showed an increase in MDA and GSH levels with decreased SOD activity, pointing towards an increase in oxidative damage in a dose-dependent manner. Histopathological examination of peripheral organs similarly brought to bolster up the toxicity s ability of these drugs. So, concluding each parameter of the studies, it can be said that toxicities are more pronounced on the organs that are involved in the drug metabolism (liver) and excretion (kidney) as well as in brain. Hence, it can be inferred that co-abuse/co-administration of ALZ along with MPH must be restricted to avoid other co-abuse associated adverse effects.
