Abstract

In coastal engineering, one of the major issues is the unpredictable behavior of the newlineoceanic wave, and it is disastrously affecting the marine infrastructure such as ports, newlinemoored ships, mooring ropes, and fenders and also affects the waterfront populace. newlineConsequently, the precise prediction of wave-induced oscillations in the harbor plays a newlinesignificant role in coastal engineering. Moreover, coastal engineers consistently work newlineto develop the technique to protect coastal structures from destructive incident waves. newlineOne such approach is to build the barrier along with the coastal structures. The barrier newlineproves to be an efficient tool in wave energy dissipation and creating a calmer area. newlineThe barriers are of various shapes, creating different influences on the resonance newlinephenomenon, and also, the location of the barrier plays an important role in reducing newlinewave oscillations within the port. The characteristic of different types of porous newlinebreakwater is determined with prescribed boundary conditions on the breakwater.
