Investigation of intelligent Controllers for conical tank Process

Abstract

Control systems play an important role in modern processing newlineIndustries In the chemical process industries many challenging control newlineproblems arise due to nonlinear dynamic behavior uncertainty time varying newlineparameters constraints on the manipulated variable interaction between the newlinemanipulated and controlled variable dead time and unmeasured disturbance newlinewith multivariables The Proportional Integral Derivative PID Controllers newlinehave been widely used in the process industries for many years due to their newlinesimplicity flexibility and efficiency The tuning of a PID Controller is newlinenecessary for the satisfactory operation of the process Standard methods for newlinetuning include Zeigler Nichol s ZN ultimate cycling method and Cohen newlineCoon s CC open loop tuning method In both these methods the parameters newlineof the controller are obtained for an operating point when the plant or process newlinemodel is linear This thesis focuses on the design of intelligent controllers newlinefor controlling the conical tank process newline newline
