Abstract

The topic of anxiety and academic achievement among adolescent students is a growing concern in the field of education and psychology. In recent years, there has been an increasing interest in the study of the factors that contribute to academic achievement, newlineparticularly as it relates to the emotional well-being of students. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship between anxiety and academic achievement among adolescent students in the Bhopal district. Specifically, the study will investigate the role of defence mechanisms in mediating this relationship. Defence mechanisms are psychological strategies that individuals use to cope with stress and anxiety, and they may play a significant role in determining academic outcomes. The study was conducted using a mixed-methods approach, incorporating both qualitative and quantitative data. Data was collected through surveys and interviews with students, as well as through observation and analysis of academic performance metrics. Overall, this study aims to shed light on the complex interplay between anxiety, academic achievement, and defence mechanisms among adolescent students in the Bhopal district.
