Assessment of biomass and carbon stocks in different selected tree species in vindhya region

Abstract

newlineAn experiment was carried out with an objective of studying the Assessment of Biomass and newlineCarbon stocks in different selected tree species in Vindhya region at Mirzapur Vindhya newlineregion during 2017-2020. The result from present investigation can be conducted that in Site newline7 Tree species Anogeisus latifolia is most abundant and has maximum IVI value (106.98) newlinehowever, minimum was recorded Casurina equisetifolia IVI value (0.14). Shrub species newlineDatura innoxia is most abundant has maximum IVI value (40.82) however; Datura metel has newlineminimum IVI value (28.03). Herb species Leucas cephalotus is most abundant has maximum newlineIVI value (43.15) however; Ocimum basilicum has minimum IVI value (34.86). In tree newlinespecies the highest Margalef s richness index values recorded was 3.60 at site-3 whereas newlinelowest index obtained was 2.88 at site-7. In shrub species the highest Margalef s richness newlineindex values recorded was 1.40 at site-6 whereas lowest index obtained was 0.44 at site-5. In newlineherb species the highest Margalef s richness index values recorded was 1.24 at site-1 whereas newlinelowest index obtained was 0.44 at site-5. In tree species the highest Shannon s Index Hand#8242; was newlinerecorded in site-3 (3.02) whereas lowest Hand#8242; (2.32) was recorded at site-2. In shrub species the newlinehighest Shannon s Index Hand#8242; was recorded in site-4 (2.24) whereas lowest Hand#8242; (1.11) was newlinerecorded at site-8. In herb species, the highest Shannon s Index Hand#8242; was recorded in site-8 newline(2.44) whereas lowest Hand#8242; (1.12) was recorded at site-7.In tree species the highest Simpson s newlinediversity index (D) was recorded in site-2 (0.08) whereas lowest D (0.06) was recorded at newlinesite-5. In shrub species, the highest Simpson s diversity index (D) was recorded in site-3 newline(0.98) whereas lowest D (0.06) was recorded at site-6. In herb species the highest Simpson s newlinediversity index (D) was recorded in site-6 (0.91) whereas lowest D (0.11) was recorded at newlinesite-4.In tree species the highest Evenness index values recorded was 0.88 at site-3 whereas newlinelowest index obtained was 0.68
