Re Orientation in Public Sector Banks a Study on Customer Satisfaction in Madurai District

Abstract

Banks have become an integral part of everyone s life in the modern world. Banking in our country has been continuing from the early Vedic period till the Modern banking in the Mughal and British periods. Now banks are accessible even to a common man and their activities extend to areas hitherto untouched. Banks cater to the needs of agriculturists, industrialists, traders and all the other sections of the society. Banking sector is the backbone of any financial system of the economy. The newly set up Commercial banks offer aggressive and technology-savvy competition to the Public-sector banks in the form of innovative products and services. At present, Banks are competently introducing new and latest services and attracting customers with new reorientation. This study tries to highlight those Reoriented Banking services rendered by different categories of banks. The thesis is organized into seven chapters. The first chapter deals with the introduction and design of the study which consists of introduction, statement of the problem, review of literature, scope of the study, objectives of the study, operational definition of concepts, methodology, construction of tools, sampling design, geographical coverage, period of the study, field work and collection of data, data processing, framework of analysis, limitations of the study and scheme of report. newline
