Abstract
Borophosphate based bioactive glasses have emerged as promising materials in the field of regenerative medicine due to their unique physicochemical properties and excellent bioactivity. This work presents a comprehensive investigation into the synthesis, characterization, and bioactivity evaluation of alkali doped borophosphate bioactive glasses. Borate and calcium fluoride altered alkali doped bioactive glasses were synthesized using the conventional melt-quenching technique. Structural, optical, morphological and thermal analyses were conducted using X-ray diffraction (XRD), Fourier-transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy, nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR), ultraviolet-visible (UV Vis) spectroscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM) coupled with energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX), and modulated differential scanning calorimetry (MDSC). XRD analysis verified that the synthesized glasses possess an amorphous structure.
