Abstract
A Mobile Ad hoc Network (MANET) is an infrastructure-less network of mobile nodes that can work together. A Mobile Ad hoc Network is formed when a group of nodes join together. The main application of Mobile Ad hoc Network includes military field, disaster management, multimedia applications and Wireless Sensor Networks. The main challenges of MANET are its mobility and unpredictability, changes in topology, energy efficiency and secure routing. In Mobile Ad hoc Networks, energy efficient routing of data packets is a major concern. The most pressing issue for the basic functionality of the network is energy efficiency. One of the most difficult challenges in MANET is designing a complete energy efficient routing system. Because of the scalability of the MANET, developing an energy efficient routing protocol with optimal power consumption remains a challenge. The goal of the proposed work is to address difficulties connected to energy efficient routing using Swarm Intelligence techniques such as Bee Colony Optimization (BCO) and Ant Colony Optimization (ACO).
