A field experiment entitled Nitrogen management in rice-linseed cropping newlinesystem for higher productivity and reduced GHGs emission under changing newlineclimate was carried out for two consecutive years during 2021-22 and 2022-23 newlinestarting with kharif rice in the research farm of OUAT, Bhubaneswar. The newlineexperiment was carried out in a split plot design with four replications comprising newlineof five treatments viz., Soil Test Based Nitrogen Recommendation (STBNR) newlinecomplete inorganic, Integrated Nutrient Management (INM) (50% organic*+ 50% newlineinorganic) *Organic= 1/3rd FYM+ 1/3rd poultry manure+ 1/3rd neem oil cake, newlineOrganic source (1/3rd FYM+ 1/3rd poultry manure+ 1/3rd neem oil cake), Soil newlineTest Based Nitrogen Recommendation (STBNR)+ ZnSO4 at 25 kg ha-1 and newlineIntegrated Nutrient Management + ZnSO4 at 25 kg ha-1in preceding rice crop newlinewere allotted to the main plots and two methods of crop establishment (Paira and newlineconventional tillage) along with two nitrogen management practices in linseed newline(100% RDF and 50% N+ full PK) were allotted to the sub-plots. The soil was newlineloamy sand, slightly acidic in reaction, medium in organic carbon, available P2O5 newlineand K2O, and low in available nitrogen. In rice, amongst different nitrogen newlinemanagement practices, the organic resulted in significantly higher methane newlineemission at all the growth stages (23.92, 31.69, 36.72 and 31.99 mg m-2 day-1 at newline20, 40 60 and 80 DAT, respectively). Similarly, application of nitrogenous newlinefertilizer based on soil test value recorded higher nitrous oxide emission (82.72, newline79.02 and 65.66 and#956;g m-2 day-1at 20, 60 and 80 DAT, respectively) as compared to newlineother treatments. Amongst the nitrogen management approaches in rice, newlineINM+ZnSO4 resulted in higher grain yield (4.91 t ha-1) followed by INM. newlineHowever, in case of linseed higher seed yield was recorded in case of residual newlineorganic treatment (658kg ha-1). The INM+ZnSO4 treatment in preceding rice crop newlineresulted in the maximum system yield (6.25 t REY ha-1), energy productivity newline(0.239 kg REY MJ-1), partial factor productivity of nutrient (25.0
